GC녹십자의료재단(대표원장 이상곤)은 12월 9일 ‘국가통합바이오빅데이터구축사업’의 수행기관으로 선정됐다고 12월 10일 발표했다.
이 사업은 보건복지부, 과학기술정보통신부, 산업통상자원부, 질병관리청이 참여하는 범부처 프로젝트로, 임상정보, 유전체 데이터, 공공 데이터, 개인 건강 정보를 수집하여 바이오 빅데이터를 구축하는 것이다. GC녹십자는 연구책임자인 전유라 진검센터 부서장과 함께 인체자원 제작 및 검체 운송 분야에서 과제를 수행한다.
바이오 빅데이터는 국가 전략 자산으로 부각되고 있으며, 이번 사업은 2028년까지 약 75만 명의 데이터를 구축해 의료, 산업, 학계에 제공할 예정이다. GC녹십자는 검체 처리 및 관리 전문성과 체계적인 검체 운송 시스템을 바탕으로 사업 성공에 기여할 계획이다.
향후 5년간 580억 원의 연구비를 지원받아 검체 자원화, 품질 관리, 운영 지원 및 검체 운송 등의 업무를 수행할 예정이다. 특히, 최첨단 자동화 검사 시스템과 실시간 온도 모니터링 기능을 갖춘 검체 운송 차량을 통해 안정적인 검체 운송이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.
전유라 연구책임자는 "모든 인체자원이 국가의 자산이 되도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔고, 이상곤 대표원장은 "바이오 빅데이터 구축사업에 기여하게 되어 기쁘고, 성공적인 추진을 위해 모든 역량을 집중하겠다"고 말했다.
Green Cross and Red Crescent Medical Foundation Selected as Implementing Organization for 'National Big Data Construction Project'
On December 9, the GC Green Cross & Shield Foundation (CEO Lee Sang-gon) announced on December 10 that it was selected as the implementing organization for the National Integrated Bio Big Data Construction Project.
The project is a cross-ministry project involving the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Korea Agency for Disease Control and Prevention to build bio big data by collecting clinical information, genomic data, public data, and personal health information. GC Green Cross will carry out tasks in the areas of human resource production and specimen transportation with Jeon Yura, the head of the medical examination center, as the research director.
Bio big data has been highlighted as a national strategic asset, and this project will build data of about 750,000 people by 2028 and provide it to the medical, industrial, and academic communities. GC Green Cross plans to contribute to the success of the project based on its expertise in sample processing and management and a systematic sample transportation system.
It will receive research funding of KRW 58 billion over the next five years to carry out tasks such as specimen resource management, quality control, operational support, and specimen transportation. In particular, it is expected to provide stable transportation of specimens through a state-of-the-art automated inspection system and a specimen transportation vehicle with real-time temperature monitoring.
“We will do our best to ensure that all human resources become national assets,” said Yura Jeon, director of the research, and Lee Sang-gon, CEO of the institute, said, ”We are pleased to contribute to the bio big data construction project and will focus all our capabilities for its successful implementation.”
