브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 효성은 지난 9일 마포구청에서 마포구 관내 저소득 취약계층을 위한 ‘사랑의 김장 김치’와 ‘사랑의 쌀’을 전달했다고 10일 밝혔다.
효성이 이번에 전달한 김장 김치는 총 15톤으로 1500가구에, 쌀은 10톤으로 500가구에 전달될 예정이다. 김치는 취약계층에 일자리를 제공하고 있는 사회적 기업에서 구입하고, 쌀은 경상남도 함안군 군북농협에서 구입해 농가 판로를 지원하는 등 지역사회와의 상생에도 기여했다.
효성은 매년 연말 마포구 취약계층을 위해 쌀은 2006년부터, 김치는 2007년부터 전달해 왔다.
아울러 오는 16일에는 아현동 주민센터에 ‘사랑의 생필품’을 전달할 예정이다. 생필품은 총 400가구에 전달될 예정이며 쇠고기 죽, 사골곰탕 등으로 구성했다. 사랑의 생필품 나눔은 고령의 독거노인 등이 따뜻한 겨울을 보낼 수 있도록 2015년부터 진행해 왔다.
한편, 효성 임직원들은 연말을 맞아 장애 전문 서울베다니어린이집 원아들과 크리스마스 활동을 함께하는 등 회사와 임직원이 함께 지역사회 취약계층에 대한 지원을 지속하고 있다.
