건양대학교 글로컬대학사업추진단과 한국과학기술원(KAIST) 을지연구소가 국방산업 발전 및 국방과학기술 연구 교류 협력을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 19일 밝혔다.
이번 협약을 통해 두 기관은 ▲국방산업 발전 및 글로컬 대학 사업에 관한 정책(사업) 지원을 위한 공조, 정보 공유, 장비 및 설비 상호 지원 ▲연구과제 및 교육과정의 공동 기획 및 수행 ▲공동 연구 및 교육과정 운영을 통한 연구성과 확산 등의 분야에서 협력하기로 했다.
건양대는 KAIST와의 협력 강화를 위해 국방 분야 융합연구를 위한 공동연구센터(가칭 국방융합연구센터) 운영 기획안도 함께 발표했다.
센터 운영을 통해 양 기관은 국방 관련 연구 및 교육을 공동으로 진행하고 연구 성과를 공유하며, 국방산업과 과학기술의 실질적 융합을 촉진할 예정이다.
한편, 이번 업무협약은 지역 및 글로벌 경쟁력을 강화하는 데 중요한 이정표가 될 것으로 기대된다.
