공주시(시장 최원철)가 여성가족부로부터 다시 한 번 '여성친화도시'로 지정됐다.
시는 지난 19일 서울 중구 LW컨벤션센터에서 열린 '2024년 여성친화도시 정부포상 수여식 및 지정 협약식'에서 협약을 체결하고, 20일 공주시청에서 시민참여단과 함께 현판 제막식을 진행했다고 밝혔다.
지난 2019년 처음 여성친화도시로 지정된 이후 다양한 정책과 사업을 통해 여성친화적인 환경 조성을 위한 노력을 기울여왔던 시는 부서 간 협력 강화와 성인지 감수성 향상을 위한 교육을 통해 여성친화 정책의 내실화를 다지고, 여성 일자리 협의체와 안전 TF 운영 등으로 실질적인 변화를 이끌어냈다.
이번 재지정은 이러한 성과를 바탕으로 이루어진 것으로, 시는 내년부터 5년간 ▲성평등 정책 추진 기반 구축, ▲여성의 경제·사회 참여 확대, ▲지역사회 안전 증진, ▲가족친화적 환경 조성, ▲여성 지역사회 활동 역량 강화 등 5대 목표를 중심으로 12개 세부사업을 집중적으로 추진할 계획이다.
특히 경력단절여성을 위한 지역 맞춤형 창업 지원 사업과 여성 안심 주거지역 조성, 안전한 돌봄 시스템 구축, 여성 거점 활동 공간인 여성회관 활성화 등 시민들이 실생활에서 체감할 수 있는 정책들이 중점적으로 시행될 예정이다.
한편, 공주시는 여성친화도시 조성의 근간으로 '성인지 통계'를 발간해왔으며, 지역 내 여성과 남성의 생활 환경 및 사회적 지위 차이를 수치화해 성평등 정책 수립의 기초 데이터를 제공하는 등 정책 실효성을 높이는 데 기여해 왔다.
