경주시는 모든 항목에서 높은 점수를 기록하며 우수한 성과를 거뒀으며 특히 지난해 같은 평가에서 우수상을 수상한 데 이어 올해 대상을 차지하며 명실상부한 ‘의약안전관리 1등 도시’로 자리매김했다.
앞서 경북도는 약사법 및 마약류 관리 점검률, 약물 오남용 예방 캠페인 및 홍보·교육, 폐의약품 관리 등 종합적으로 심사한 바 있다.
경주시는 해당 평가에서 우수사례로 제시한 우체국과의 협약을 통한 폐의약품 수거 시스템 개선은 체계적이고 효율적인 폐의약품 관리 모델로 평가받았다.
진병철 경주시보건소장은 “이번 성과는 시민 여러분의 적극적인 참여와 협조 덕분”이라며 “앞으로도 의약품의 안전한 사용과 관리를 위해 최선을 다하고, 시민 건강 증진을 위한 다양한 프로그램과 캠페인을 지속적으로 추진하겠다”고 말했다.
