대전맹학교는 지난 12일, 이료전문전공과 학생회가 진행한 ‘이웃돕기 안마 사랑방’ 행사를 통해 모금한 성금 406만 원을 대전 동구청 '천사의 기적 난방비 모금 캠페인'에 기탁했다고 23일 밝혔다.
동구청에서 열린 이 날 기탁식에는 박희조 동구청장을 비롯해 성금을 모금한 대전맹학교 이료전문전공과 학생회 임원들이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.
대전맹학교 이료전문전공과 학생회는 2012년부터 지역사회의 어려운 이웃을 돕기 위해 ‘안마 사랑방’ 행사를 꾸준히 이어오고 있다. 이 행사를 통해 마련된 성금은 매년 지역 내 소외된 이웃들에게 전달되어 왔으며, 지난 10월 8일에는 사회복지법인 공동모금회로부터 12년간의 활동에 대한 공로를 인정받아 표창장을 수상하기도 했다.

황웅찬 이료전문전공과 학생회장은 “어려운 시기를 보내고 있는 이웃들에게 우리의 작은 정성이 따뜻한 위로가 되었으면 한다”며 “이번 활동을 통해 우리 스스로도 큰 행복과 보람을 느낄 수 있었다”고 소감을 전했다.
문성준 대전맹학교 교장은 “안마 사랑방 행사를 통해 사랑을 실천한 학생들과 행사에 동참해주신 모든 분들께 깊이 감사드린다”며 “학생들의 따뜻한 손길이 추운 겨울을 보내고 있는 이웃들에게 온기로 전달되길 바란다”고 말했다.
