충남 서산시가 내년 5월 29일부터 31일까지 3일간 서산종합운동장 일원에서 열리는 ‘제31회 충청남도장애인체육대회’의 성공적인 개최를 위해 준비위원회를 열고 본격적인 대회 준비에 들어갔다.
24일 서산시청 대회의실에서 열린 준비위원회는 이완섭 서산시장을 위원장으로 관계 기관장, 종목단체협회장 등 28명의 위원이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.
이날 회의에서는 대회의 기본계획 보고, 상징물 확정, 안전 대책 등 대회의 전반적인 준비 상황에 대해 논의를 진행했다.
대회 상징물은 올해 개최된 ‘2024 제76회 충청남도민체육대회’의 상징성과 연속성을 살리면서 장애인체전의 취지에 맞게 '포용적 축제'의 이미지를 잘 드러낼 수 있도록 새롭게 보완하여 개발했다.
또한, 안전한 대회 운영을 위해 '자원봉사자 배치, 응급 의료진 및 구급 차량 운영' 등 대회 기간 동안의 안전 관리 계획 수립에도 만전을 기할 방침이다.
특히, 장애인 선수와 관람객의 편의를 위한 무장애 환경 조성에도 심혈을 기울이고 있다.
이완섭 서산시장은 “이번 대회는 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 어우러져 진정한 화합의 의미를 실현하는 축제가 될 것”이라며 “준비 과정에서 안전과 편의를 최우선으로 고려해 성공적인 대회를 만들겠다”고 말했다.
