세종시의회가 24일 내년도 세종시청 본예산을 의결하고 올해 회기를 마무리했다.
시의회는 이날 ‘2025년도 세종특별자치시 예산안 및 기금운용계획안’ 처리를 위한 제95회 임시회를 개회했다.
이번 임시회는 지난 20일 예산결산특별위원회가 ‘2025년도 세종특별자치시 예산안 및 기금운용계획안’에 대한 재심사를 완료함에 따라 개회됐다.
시의회는 지난 16일 열린 제94회 정례회 제5차 본회의에서 단체장이 ‘2025년도 세종특별자치시 예산안’의 예산 금액 증가에 대해 부동의함에 따라 추가 협의와 조정을 위해 예산결산특별위원회에 재심사를 요구한 바 있다.
이날 열린 제1차 본회의에서는 제95회 임시회 회기 결정의 건과 회의록 서명의원 선임의 건, 2025년도 세종특별자치시 예산안 및 기금운용계획안 등 총 4개의 안건을 통과시켰다.
임채성 의장은 이날 한 해 회기를 마무리하는 폐회사에서 “2025년도 예산이 뒤늦게 확정되면서 시민 여러분께 큰 우려를 끼쳐드렸다”며, “예산 확정이 지연된 과정은 의회와 집행부가 예산을 보다 효율적으로 활용하기 위해 심도 있는 협의와 토론을 진행한 결과임을 너그러이 이해해 주시길 부탁드린다”고 말했다.
이어 임 의장은 “올해 세종시의회와 집행부는 시의 발전과 시민 삶의 질 향상을 위해 함께 노력하여 크고 작은 성과를 이뤄냈다”며, “내년에도 세종시의회는 시민만을 바라보며 시민과 함께 행정수도로 나아가는 길을 흔들림 없이 걸어가겠다”는 포부를 밝혔다.
한편, 올해 마지막 회기를 종료한 세종시의회는 내년 2월 4일에 2025년도 첫 번째 임시회를 개회할 예정이다.
