브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 제주항공은 29일 전남 무안공항에서 여객기 사고가 발생한 것과 관련 공식 입장을 통해 사과하며 사고 수습에 최선을 다하겠다고 밝혔다.
제주항공은 이날 자사 홈페이지에 김이배 제주항공 대표이사 명의의 '제주항공 대국민 발표'를 통해 "제주항공을 아껴주시는 모든 분들께 머리 숙여 사과의 말씀을 드린다"고 고개를 숙였다.
방콕발 제주항공 여객기 7C 2216편은 이날 오전 9시3분경 무안국제공항에서 랜딩기어가 펼쳐지지 않아 동체 착륙을 시도하다 활주로를 이탈해 공항 외벽에 정면 충돌했다.
전남도소방본부에 따르면 이 여객기에는 한국인 173명, 태국인 2명과 승무원 6명을 포함해 총 181명이 탑승하고 있었으며 승무원 2명만 생존하고 나머지 179명은 사망한 것으로 추정했다.
김이배 대표이사는 "사고로 유명을 달리하신 탑승객분들과 유가족분들께 깊은 애도와 사과의 말씀을 올린다"며 "현재로선 사고의 원인은 가늠하기 어렵고, 관련 정부 기관의 공식적인 조사 발표를 기다려야 하는 상황이다. 사고 원인을 불문하고 최고경영자로서 책임을 통감한다"고 했다.
이어 "제주항공은 빠른 사고 수습과 탑승자 가족 지원을 위해 모든 노력을 다하겠다. 아울러 정부와 함께 사고 원인 규명에도 최선을 다하겠다"고 더했다.
마지막으로 "다시 한 번 사고로 인해 유명을 달리하신 분들의 명복을 빌고, 유가족 여러분께도 깊은 사과의 말씀을 드린다"고 했다.
