【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스(총장 류완하)는 교육부와 한국연구재단이 주관하는 2024년 교육국제화역량 인증제 인증(예비선정)을 획득했다고 3일 밝혔다.

동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스는 2024년 교육국제화역량 인증제에서 학위과정과 어학연수과정이 동시에 인증대학으로 지정되었으며, 인증기간은 2025년 3월부터 2026년 2월까지 1년간이다.
‘교육국제화역량 인증제’는 우수 외국인 유학생 유치 확대 및 국내 학생 국제화 역량 제고를 위해 2011년부터 교육부에서 실시하고 있는 제도이다. 교육부는 ‘불법체류율’, ‘전략 및 선발’, ‘유학생 지원’, ‘유학생 관리 및 성과’ 영역의 평가를 통해 우수한 국제화 역량을 갖춘 대학을 선별하고 인증대학에는 다양한 정책적 혜택을 부여하여 대학의 국제화 분야에 대한 질 관리를 하고 있다.
동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스는 이번 교육국제화역량 인증대학 선정으로 학령인구 감소에 따른 새로운 교육수요군인 우수 외국인 유학생들의 유치뿐 아니라 정부 및 지자체와 연계한 다양한 국책사업에 비교우위를 점하게 되어 지역대학의 위기를 극복할 중요한 모멘텀을 확보하게 되었다.
동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스는 현재 국제화를 통한 대학의 특성화 위해 외국인 유학생 특화 교육과정, 외국인 유학생 전용 원격강좌, AI기반 실시간 자막·번역 시스템, DGFA(Dongguk Global Freshmen Academy), TOPIK 공식 시험기관, 지역특화형 비자를 통한 취업 및 정주 지원 등 다양한 콘텐츠, 시스템, 제도를 선제적으로 도입하여 하이테크 학습혁명과 글로컬 고등교육 혁신 모델을 주도해 나가고 있다.

Dongguk University WISE Campus has been designated as an accredited university for both degree programs and language courses in the 2024 Education Internationalization Capacity Certification System, and the certification period is one year from March 2025 to February 2026.
The ‘Education Internationalization Capacity Certification System’ is a system implemented by the Ministry of Education since 2011 to expand the recruitment of excellent international students and enhance the internationalization capacity of domestic students. The Ministry of Education selects universities with excellent internationalization capabilities through evaluations in the areas of ‘illegal residence rate’, ‘strategy and selection’, ‘international student support’, and ‘international student management and performance’, and provides various policy benefits to certified universities to manage the quality of the internationalization field of universities.
