대전시교육청은 7일 교육청 산하 위(Wee)센터에서 '제5기 학부모보듬위원회' 위촉식을 열고, 본격적인 활동을 시작했다고 밝혔다.
학부모보듬위원회는 상담 자격을 갖춘 학부모들이 정서적 어려움을 겪는 학생들에게 상담 및 멘토링을 제공하는 프로그램이다. 또한 법학 교수, 경찰, 사회복지사와 같은 다양한 분야의 전문가들이 자문위원으로 참여하는 등 다각적인 지원 체계를 마련하고 있다.
시 교육청은 2017년 처음 학부모보듬위원회를 출범한 이후, 매 2년 주기로 새롭게 위원을 구성하며 지속적으로 운영해왔다. 이번 5기 위원회는 그간의 경험을 바탕으로 더욱 실질적이고 전문적인 학생 지원 방안들을 추진할 예정이다.
이날 위촉식에서는 학부모위원과 전문가위원들에게 위촉장을 전달했으며, 학생 연계 절차 및 위원 간 협력 방안 등을 논의하는 협의회를 진행하는 등 공식적인 활동에 돌입했다.
협의회에 참여한 한 학부모위원은 “학생들의 정서적 건강을 돕는 역할을 맡게 되어 기쁘다”며, “아이들이 안전하고 건강하게 스스로 성장할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
설동호 대전시교육감은 "학부모보듬위원회는 학생들에게 실질적인 도움을 제공하는 중요한 프로그램"이라며 "위원님들이 학생들을 따뜻하게 품어주는 역할을 잘 수행해 주길 바란다"고 강조했다. 이어 "교육청은 위원회의 활동이 원활히 이루어질 수 있도록 행정적, 재정적 지원을 아끼지 않을 것"이라고 덧붙였다.
