브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 오동운 고위공직자범죄수사처장은 윤석열 대통령 체포영장 집행에 실패한데 대해 국민에 사과하며 2차 집행에선 최선을 다하겠다고 약속했다.
오동운 처장은 7일 오후 국회 법제사법위원회 현안질의에 출석해 "대통령 경호처로 인해 체포영장 집행이 무산됐다. 그 부분에 대해 국민들에게 굉장히 진심으로 사과드린다. 사법부에 의해 정당하게 발부된 체포영장이 제대로 집행되지 못해서 법치주의가 훼손되는 모습을 보이게 한 점에 대해 공수처장으로서 가슴이 아프고 국민들에게 매우 죄송하다"고 밝혔다.
오 처장은 이어 "2차 집행에서는 차질이 없도록 매우 철저히 준비해서 최선을 다할 것을 약속드린다"며 "2차 영장 집행이 마지막 영장 집행이라는 비장한 각오로 철두철미하게 준비해서 목적을 달성할 수 있도록 공조본 차원에서 최선을 다하겠다"고 강조했다.
한편, 공수처는 지난달 31일 서울서부지법에서 내란 우두머리 혐의를 받는 윤 대통령에 대한 체포영장을 발부받아 지난 3일 영장 집행에 나섰다. 그러나 대통령 경호처가 경호법을 이유로 관저 진입을 막았고, 결국 대치 5시간 만에 안전을 이유로 집행을 중지하고 철수했다.
