윤석열 대통령이 13일 미 LA 산불 피해 교민들에 대한 정부 지원을 당부하는 입장을 냈다.
윤 대통령 메시지는 국회 탄핵소추안으로 직무 정지 후 지난해 12월 29일 발생한 전남 무안국제공항 제주항공 여객기 사고에 이어 두 번째다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오전 페이스북을 통해 "미국 LA 대형 산불로 피해가 걷잡을 수 없이 커지고 있다'며 "불의 피해를 입으신 분들께 애도·위로 말씀을 드리며, 미 국민 여러분께 위로 마음을 전한다"고 했다.
그러면서 "미국은 대한민국이 가장 어려웠던 시절에 우리 손을 잡아줬던 소중한 동맹"이라며 "LA는 전 세계에서 우리 교민들이 가장 많이 살고 있는 곳으로 도움이 필요하다면 정부 차원에서 지원하고 우리 교민 피해를 막는 데도 최선을 다해 달라"고 당부했다.
