충남 서산시가 저소득층 환자와 보호자의 간병 부담을 해소하기 위해 '보호자 없는 병원 사업'을 본격적으로 운영한다.
이 사업은 서산의료원과 서산중앙병원과의 업무협약을 통해 진행되며, 간병이 필요한 지원 대상 환자에게 전문 간병인을 지원하는 형태로 이루어진다.
이 사업의 주요 대상은 충청남도에 주소를 둔 도민으로, 의료급여 수급권자, 차상위 본인부담감경대상자, 건강보험료 납부금액 하위 20%에 해당하는 자, 행려환자, 긴급지원 대상자 등이다.
대상자들은 전문 간병인의 도움을 받아 복약, 식사 보조, 위생 및 안전 관리, 운동 및 활동 보조 등 다양한 서비스를 제공받을 수 있다.
서비스는 1명당 연 30일까지 지원되며, 추가 간병이 필요한 경우에는 담당 의사의 소견서를 첨부하면 최대 15일까지 연장할 수 있다.
그러나 간병비의 이중 지원을 방지하기 위해, 보험을 통해 간병비를 받는 경우에는 이 사업의 대상에서 제외된다.
