브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령 당선인이 19일(현지시간) 취임선서를 하루 앞두고 가진 연설에서 "내일 정오부터 4년의 기나긴 미국의 쇠퇴가 막을 내리고 완전히 새로운 날이 시작될 것"이라고 밝혔다.
AP통신에 따르면 트럼프 당선인은 이날 워싱턴 캐피털 원 아레나에서 가진 취임 연설에서 "우리는 그 어느 때보다 우리나라를 위대하게 할 것"이라며 이같이 말했다.
그는 바이든 행정부를 겨냥해 "우리는 실패하고 부패한 워싱턴 정치 기득권, 실패한 행정부를 끝낼 것"이라며 "모든 것을 되돌릴 것"이라고 예고했다.
이어 "우리 국경에 대한 침공을 멈추게할 것이다. 우리의 부를 되찾을 것이고, 우리의 발밑에 수금(水金)을 해방시킬 것이다"라며 그간 공언해온 반(反)이민 정책과 강경 무역 기조, 적극적인 석유 시추 추진 등을 비유적으로 언급하기도 했다.
트럼프 당선인은 또한 "도시에 법과 질서를 다시 가져올 것"이라며 "학교에서 애국심을 되살리고 극좌 워크(Woke·깨어있는 좌파)를 군·정부에서 내보낼 것"이라고 했다.
그는 이러한 조치들이 "미국을 다시 위대하게 만들 것"이라고 강조하기도 했다.
한편 트럼프 당선인은 20일 정오(한국 시간 21일 오후 2시)에 취임 선서를 하며 공식적으로 미국 47대 대통령에 취임하게 된다.
