한설 예비역 장군(육군소장)은 1월20일 인터넷 저널인 페이스북에 “백색테러가 자행되는 한국정치의 현 상황, 더 이상 진행되면 안된다” 제목의 글을 게재했다. 이 글에서 “서부지법에 대한 폭도들의 난입은 현재 한국 정치 상황이 위기 국면에 들어가 있다는 것을 의미하고 있다”고 지적했다.

이어 “필자가 제1차 세계대전이후 독일의 경우를 현재 한국의 상황에 비추어 반추하고자 하는 것은, 독일이 경제공황이후 파시즘으로 진입하는 경로가 한국의 현재 상황에 시사 하는 바가 크다고 보기 때문”이라고 설명하면서 “가장 모범적인 민주체제였던 바이마르 공화국이 파시즘으로 진입하게 된 이유는 여러 가지가 있겠지만 그 중에서 가장 큰 이유가 중산층 이하 계층의 붕괴와 추락이었다는 것이 역사학자들의 일반적인 평가라고 하겠다. 한국은 2010년 경 정점에 이른 경제가 전반적으로 하락하고 있다고 한다. 최근 한국은 극심한 부의 편중 현상을 겪고 있다. 신자유주의의 확산에 따른 결과인지는 모르겠으나 전 세계적인 중산층의 붕괴는 일반적인 현상이다. 그러나 한국에서의 부의 편중과 중산층 붕괴는 매우 급속하게 진행되고 있는 것 같다.”고 분석했다.
