한국가스안전공사 충남본부(본부장 박용석, 이하 가스안전공사)는 설 명절을 맞아 예산군과 태안군과 협력하여 취약계층 어르신들을 대상으로 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 전개했다고 밝혔다.
가스안전공사는 지난 22일 예산군 노인종합복지관(관장 동준스님)을 방문하여 기부금을 전달하고, 복지관 내 가스시설의 안전점검 및 동절기 가스사고 예방을 위한 안전교육을 진행했다.
또 같은 날 예산군시니어클럽(대표 김해수)을 방문, 노인 일자리 창출과 관련된 시니어 가스안전관리원 사업 확대 방안을 논의하며, 지역 어르신 사회안전망 구축에 힘을 쏟았다.
이어 지난 23일에는 태안군노인복지관(관장 김노정)을 찾아 급식시설과 가스배관의 안전점검을 실시한 뒤, 노인들에게 가스안전 요령을 교육하고 성금을 전달하며 따뜻한 명절 분위기를 조성했다. 김노정 관장은 “가스안전공사의 노년층 안전사고 예방 노력이 매우 뜻깊다”며 “사회적으로도 더 많은 관심과 지원이 이어지기를 바란다”고 전했다.
박용석 충남본부장은 “설 명절을 맞아 복지 사각지대에 놓인 소외계층에 대한 관심이 필요하다”며 “특히 추운 겨울철 가스 사용 증가에 따른 사고 예방에 각별히 주의해 달라”고 당부했다.
한편, 가스안전공사는 시니어 가스안전관리원을 채용하여 안전취약 가구를 점검하고, 노인 일자리를 창출하는 등 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 지속적으로 확대하고 있다.
