충남 보령시가 벼 재배 농가의 병해충 예방을 위해 육묘상자처리제 지원사업을 본격적으로 추진한다.
시는 올해 벼 일반재배 면적 8296ha를 대상으로 약 4억 4800만원의 예산을 투입해 농가의 부담을 덜어줄 계획이다.
육묘상자처리제는 모내기 직전 모판에 간편하게 살포해줄 수 있는 약제로, 줄무늬잎마름병, 흰잎마름병, 먹노린재 등 주요 병해충을 효과적으로 예방할 수 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이를 통해 병해충 방제 횟수를 줄임으로써 농가의 노동력과 영농비용 절감에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
지원대상은 보령시에 농업경영체를 등록한 벼 실경작 농지 경작자로, 1ha당 54,000원 한도로 약제 가격의 50% 이내에서 지원을 받을 수 있다.
보령시는 오는 28일까지 읍·면·동사무소를 통해 지원 신청을 접수한 뒤, 3월 중 검토를 거쳐 4월 초에 농가에 약제를 공급할 예정이다.
오제은 보령시 농업기술센터 소장은 "이번 육묘상자처리제 지원으로 고령화와 생산비 증가로 어려움을 겪고 있는 농가들의 부담을 줄이고, 벼 재배 초기부터 병해충 예방에 만전을 기할 수 있을 것"이라며 "벼 재배 농가들은 기간 내에 약제를 꼭 신청해주시길 바란다"고 전했다.
