진주시, 생명존중 안심마을 사업 확대 시행

[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 자살 예방과 생명존중 문화를 확산하기 위해 ‘생명존중 안심마을 조성사업’을 올해 확대 시행한다고 11일 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 보건의료, 교육, 복지 등 5개 분야의 지역 기관들이 참여해 자살 고위험군 발굴, 자살 예방 교육, 맞춤형 서비스 지원 등 다양한 활동을 진행한다.

사업은 지난해 평거동을 시작으로 10개 읍·면·동에서 사업이 시행됐으며, 올해는 자살 고위험 지역으로 선정된 5개 동을 추가해 지역사회 중심의 자살 예방 체계를 더욱 강화할 계획이다.

진주시 보건소 관계자는 “생명존중 안심마을은 주민 모두가 함께 만들어가는 사업이다”며“주민들의 적극적인 참여와 따뜻한 공동체 형성을 통해 안전한 사회를 만들어 나가겠다”고 말했다.
