충남 공주시가 주미산 일대를 활용한 산림레포츠 특화 사업을 본격 추진한다. 시는 천혜의 자연환경을 갖춘 주미산과 금학생태공원 일대를 중부권 대표 산림레포츠 명소로 조성하기 위해 올해 말까지 다양한 체험시설을 완공할 계획이다.
공주시는 민선 8기 공약사업의 하나로 총사업비 76억 9천만 원을 투입해 주미산 치유의 숲과 인근 수원지를 포함한 1만 780㎡ 부지에 산림 익스트림 레포츠 시설을 설치한다고 13일 밝혔다.
이번 사업의 핵심 시설 중 하나는 ‘스카이 사이클’이다. 이는 금학생태공원 수원지를 가로지르는 형태로 조성되며, 수면 위 와이어를 따라 특수 제작된 자전거를 이용자가 직접 페달을 밟으며 이동하는 체험 시설이다. 약 20m 높이에서 수원지 경관을 감상하며 160m 거리를 왕복할 수 있어 짜릿한 스릴과 색다른 경험을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.
