충남 금산군이 글로벌 인재 양성을 목표로 추진한 해외 어학연수가 학생과 학부모의 큰 호응 속에 성공적으로 마무리됐다.
이번 연수는 금산교육사랑장학재단 주관으로 1월 16일부터 2월 12일까지 4주간 진행됐으며, 관내 초·중학생 90명이 참여했다.
학생들은 말레이시아 조호바루에서 집중 영어교육을 받으며 원어민과의 1대1 수업, 그룹 수업, 클럽 활동 등을 통해 실용 영어 실력을 키웠다. 하루 10교시씩 주 5일 진행된 정규수업 외에도, 말레이시아와 싱가포르의 주요 문화·역사 명소를 탐방하는 특별활동과 주말 진로비전 아카데미가 함께 운영됐다.
연수 종료 후 실시된 만족도 조사에서는 강사진 95.8%, 교육 프로그램 92.0%, 연수 시설 95.0%, 전체 연수 만족도 95.4%를 기록하며 높은 평가를 받았다.
연수 비용은 1인당 530만 원으로, 금산군이 385만 원을 지원하고 학생들이 145만 원을 부담했다.
금산교육사랑장학재단 관계자는 “어학연수에 대한 관심과 수요가 점점 증가하고 있는 만큼, 앞으로 더 많은 학생이 참여할 수 있도록 지원 방안을 마련할 것”이라며 “학생들이 글로벌 환경에서 경쟁력을 갖출 수 있도록 더욱 체계적인 프로그램을 개발하겠다”고 밝혔다.
