윤석열 대통령 측이 16일 더불어민주당의 '12·3 비상계엄 당시 군의 국회 본관 일부 전력 차단 관련 대통령의 단전 지시 여부 수사' 주장에 대해 "민주당이 엉뚱한 사실을 갖고 대통령이 지시한 듯 허위사실로 선동에 나서고 있다"고 반박했다.
윤 대통령 법률대리인단은 이날 오후 입장문을 내고 "단전 논의는 국회 기능 마비를 위한 게 아닌 707특수임무단에 부여된 (출입)통제 임무를 수행하기 위해 나온 것"이라며 이같이 밝혔다.
민주당은 이날 회견을 열어 '지난해 12월 4일 새벽 1시 6분께부터 5분여간 계엄군이 국회 본관 지하 1층 전력을 차단한 사실을 확인했다'며 '계엄 해제 의결을 막으려던 윤 대통령 지시가 있었다'고 주장했다.
대리인단은 "707부대원들이 지하 1층으로 내려간 건 본회의장 의결 방해를 위한 단전과는 무관함을 보여준다"며 "하다못해 민주당이 공개한 영상은 대통령 공소장에서조차 언급되지 않은 내용으로 검찰조차 공소장에 기재할 수 없다 판단한 허위사실"이라고 강조했다.
또 "곽종근 전 사령관 역시 단전에 관해 누구로부터 지시받은 사실 없이 자신이 한 것임을 증언했다"며 "민주당 주장은 새로운 발견이 아니고 곽 전 사령관이 임의로 지시한 것에 대한 재탕·삼탕"이라고 덧붙였다.
