브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이명박 전 대통령은 17일 "한덕수 국무총리가 빨리 복귀해서 국정을 헤쳐나갔으면 좋겠다"며 헌재가 총리에 대한 탄핵심판을 빨리 결정해줘야 한다고 밝혔다.
이명박 전 대통령은 이날 오전 서울 서초구 청계재단에서 권성동 원내대표를 만나 이같은 뜻을 전했다고 김대식 원내수석대변인이 전했다.
김대식 원내수석대변인은 "이명박 전 대통령께서 나라를 무척이나 걱정을 많이 하시고, 그래도 권성동 원내대표가 취임하고 나서 국민의힘 지지율이 올랐을 뿐 아니라 의원들도 안정감있게 국정을 잘 헤쳐나가고 있다고 하셨다"라며 "이럴 때일수록 당이 하나가 되고 혼연일체가 돼야 한다는 말씀도 주셨다"고 말했다.
이 전 대통령은 또한 미국 트럼프 2기 정부가 들어서며 글로벌 무역 전쟁 분위기가 형성되고 있는데, 한국은 카운터파트가 사라진 점에 우려를 표하며 "한덕수 총리가 이명박 정부에서 주미대사도 하고, 무역협회 회장도 했다. 빨리 복귀해서 이 국정을 헤쳐나갔으면 좋겠다"는 취지로 말을 했다.
아울러 윤석열 대통령에 대한 탄핵심판이 진행되고 있는데 대해선 "한미관계의 중요성 측면에서 헌재 결론이 미뤄지는 것에 대해 우려를 표시하시고 빨리 (헌재가) 결정을 내리고 정부가 안정감 있게 총리 체제로 전환돼야 한다"고 촉구했다.
