전북자치도는 '2025년 지역혁신중심 대학지원체계(RISE, 라이즈)' 시행계획을 심의ㆍ의결했다.
18일 김관영 전북지사는 대학과 함께 지역 및 지역대학의 공동 위기를 극복하고 동반성장을 골자로 전북특별자치도 라이즈 위원회 및 대학 총장 간담회를 각각 개최했다.
이날 회의는 지난해 12월 구성된 '전북 라이즈(RISE) 위원회'는 라이즈(RISE) 기본계획을 심의ㆍ의결한 후속 절차로 2025년도 라이즈의 구체적 실행을 위한 재정투자 및 공모계획 등을 시행 계획이 심의ㆍ의결됐다.
특히 전북 라이즈센터인 전북테크노파크 JB지산학협력단을 통해 지역대학을 대상으로 총 840억 원 규모의 라이즈 공모를 추진한다.
올해부터 본격적으로 시행될 라이즈는 대학이 지역 발전의 핵심적인 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 돕는 것이 교육부 중점사업이다.
전북자치도는 라이즈를 통해 지역 및 지역대학의 경쟁력을 높이는 등 인재양성-취ㆍ창업-정주로 이어지는 지속 가능한 지역 발전 생태계 구축을 목표로 하고 있다.

이 밖에도, 연합형 대학 모델에 대한 논의도 이뤄졌고 지역대학 간 협력을 통한 경쟁력 강화 방안 역시 모색됐다.
