브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KT가 ‘KT 퓨처웨이브(FutureWave) 창업도약패키지’ 모집을 내달 13일까지 진행한다.
KT 퓨처웨이브 창업도약패키지는 창업 3~7년 차 도약기에 있는 유망 스타트업을 발굴해 KT와 공동으로 협업할 사업 과제를 선정하고, 기술검증(POC)과 최종 공동 서비스·사업화를 목표로 하는 기업 스케일업 프로그램이다.
이 프로그램은 KT가 중소벤처기업부, 창업진흥원, 경기창조경제혁신센터와 함께 진행한다. 참가를 원하는 기업은 창업지원포털 ‘K-스타트업’에서 신청할 수 있다.
공모 분야는 인공지능(AI)·클라우드, 미디어·콘텐츠, ICT 융합 서비스, 기타 총 4개다. 참가하는 기업은 KT와 협력 가능한 기술·서비스·콘텐츠를 보유해야 한다.
선발된 스타트업은 기업당 최대 2억 원의 사업화 자금을 지원받으며, 신사업 추진을 위해 KT 전담 사업부서(KT 그룹)와 매칭되고 멘토링도 제공받는다.
KT는 선정된 기업에게 해외 전시회와 빅테크 컨퍼런스 참여, 글로벌 어워즈 등 글로벌 진출 프로그램을 지원할 예정이며, 국내외 벤처캐피탈(VC)의 투자 유치 기회와 KT 투자부서 및 기업형 벤처캐피털(CVC) 자회사인 KT인베스트먼트를 통한 투자 검토 기회도 제공한다.
선정된 기업은 KT에서 운영하는 판교 오픈 이노베이션 센터의 입주 공간을 별도 심사를 거쳐 제공받고, KT가 보유한 특허의 무상 양도 기회도 얻는다. KT에서 운영하는 신성장 분야 파트너와의 소통 및 사업 협력을 위한 플랫폼인 ‘에코온’에 등록돼 KT 사업 정보, 제휴·협력 기회 등 다양한 혜택을 지속적으로 공유 받게 된다.
KT 구매실장 이원준 전무는 “도약기 창업 기업과 AICT 분야의 차별화된 AX 혁신 서비스를 공동으로 개발하고 사업화 성공 가능성을 높여 스타트업과의 상생 모델을 만들어갈 예정”이라며 “중소벤처기업부, 창업진흥원, 경기창조경제혁신센터와의 협력으로 창업 생태계 확산을 위한 노력을 아끼지 않을 것이다”고 말했다.

KT, AICT Startup Recruitment for Startup Leap Package Collaboration
KT is recruiting for the ‘KT FutureWave Startup Leap Package’ until the 13th of next month.
The KT FutureWave Startup Leap Package is a corporate scale-up program that discovers promising startups in the 3rd to 7th year of their startup history, selects business projects to collaborate with KT, and aims for technology verification (POC) and final joint service/commercialization.
This program is being conducted by KT in collaboration with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Korea Institute for Startup & Entrepreneurship Development, and the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation. Companies wishing to participate can apply on the startup support portal ‘K-Startup.’
The four fields of application are artificial intelligence (AI)/cloud, media/content, ICT convergence service, and others. Participating companies must possess technologies/services/content that can collaborate with KT.
The selected startups will receive up to 200 million won in commercialization funds per company, and will be matched with a KT-dedicated business division (KT Group) to promote new businesses and receive mentoring.
KT will support the selected companies with global expansion programs such as participation in overseas exhibitions, big tech conferences, and global awards, and will also provide opportunities to attract investment from domestic and international venture capitals (VCs) and investment review opportunities through KT’s investment division and corporate venture capital (CVC) subsidiary KT Investment.
The selected companies will be provided with space at the Pangyo Open Innovation Center operated by KT after a separate screening process and will also have the opportunity to transfer patents owned by KT free of charge. They will be registered on ‘EcoOn’, a platform operated by KT for communication and business cooperation with partners in new growth fields, and will continuously receive various benefits such as KT business information, partnership and cooperation opportunities.
KT Purchasing Director Lee Won-jun said, “We plan to jointly develop differentiated AX innovation services in the AICT field with start-ups in the leap forward stage and increase the possibility of successful commercialization, thereby creating a win-win model with startups.” He added, “We will spare no effort to expand the startup ecosystem in cooperation with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Korea Institute for Startups & Entrepreneurship Development, and the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation.”
