세종시의회 여미전 의원은 24일 경기도의회에서 열린 대한민국시도의회의장협의회 제2기 ‘지역소멸 대응 특별위원회’ 제2차 정기회의에 위촉 위원자격으로 참석했다.
이날 회의에는 지난해 말 제1차 정기회의에서 위촉된 ‘지역소멸 대응 특별위원회’ 제2기 위원들이 참석했다.
참석 위원들은 ‘청년인구 유입을 위한 주택구입자금 이자 지원 건의안’에 대해 논의하고, 한국지방행정연구소 이원도 연구원의 특강 ‘생활인구 제도 정착과 활성화를 위한 지원방안’을 경청하는 시간을 가졌다.
여미전 위원은 해당 건의안에 대해 “주택자금 대출이자 지원 사업처럼 젊은 세대의 주거 부담을 직접적으로 줄여 지역 정착과 인구 유입을 만들어낼 수 있는 중요한 정책이 되어야 한다”라고 말했다.
이어 “이외에도 대한민국의 허리를 담당하는 청년 세대가 지역에서 잘 정착할 수 있도록 정주 여건 조성에 최선을 다해야 한다”라고 강조했다.
한편 ‘지역소멸대응특별위원회’는 '대한민국시도의회의장협의회 지역소멸 대응 특별위원회 규정'에 근거해 전국 광역 시도의회 의원 총 17명을 위촉했다.
위촉된 위원들은 지역소멸 대응 관련 현안 및 정책개발 연구, 지역소멸 대응 관련 제도 및 입법 촉구 등의 활동을 오는 6월 말까지 수행할 예정이다.
