[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 19일부터 21일까지 개최되는 중국 우시시 대표 축제인 ‘2025 우시 국제의 달’ 공식 초청을 받아 신종기 행정국장을 단장으로 대표단을 파견했다.

중국 장쑤성 랴오둥반도 동남부에 위치한 우시시는 인구 746만명, 4,785㎢ 면적으로 반도체, 바이오, IoT 등 첨단산업과 공업이 발달한 중국 10대 경제도시 중 하나이다.

이번 방문은 2024 세계유산 가야문화축제에 우시시가 대표단과 공연단을 파견한 것에 대한 답방의 성격으로 대표단은 축제 개막식 공식 행사에 참여하고 우시시 주요 관계자들과 만나 협력 방안을 논의했다.

특히 올해는 지난 1995년 우시시와 국제우호도시로 교류를 시작한 지 30주년, 2005년 국제자매도시 결연을 맺은 지 20주년이 되는 뜻깊은 해로 양 시는 2023년 의생명-의료기기 협력 MOU를 체결하며 의생명 분야 교류에 물꼬를 텄다.

김해시는 오는 4월 가야문화축제와 5월 시군 통합 30주년 기념 김해시민의 날에 우시시 공연단과 대표단을 각각 공식 초청해 교류를 확대해 나갈 계획이다.
