브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 건조한 날씨, 강풍, 연무 등이 겹치면서 산불 진화에 난항을 겪고 있다.
행정안전부 장관 직무대행인 고기동 중앙재난안전대책본부장은 25일 정부서울청사에서 울산·경북·경남 산불 대응 중대본 4차 회의를 열고 "기상 상황이 좋지 않아 산불 진화 작업이 쉽지 않다"고 밝혔다.

고 본부장은 "그럼에도 헬기 110대, 인력 6700여명 등 가용자원을 총 동원해 산불 진화에 집중하고, 산불이 민가로 확산되지 않도록 최선을 다하겠다"며 "피해 우려 지역의 민가, 요양시설 등에서 선제적으로 대피할 수 있도록 하겠다"고 말했다.
행안부에 따르면 현재까지 산불영향구역은 약 1만4694㏊로, 이는 서울 강남구 면적의 3.7배, 여의도 면적의 50배에 달한다.
진화 작업은 계속되고 있지만 피해 면적과 인명피해도 계속 늘어나고 있다. 인명 피해의 경우, 4명 사망, 11명 부상 등 15명으로 집계됐으며 3000명이 넘는 주민이 일시대피 중이다.

특히 산불의 대부분은 입산자의 실화, 영농부산물 또는 쓰레기 소각 등으로 발생하는 것으로 알려져 있어, 정부는 대형 산불로 번지지 않도록 철저히 주의를 기울여야 한다고 당부하고 있다.
고 본부장은 "강풍과 건조한 기상으로 인해 작은 불씨도 대형 산불로 커질 수 있어 더 각별한 주의가 필요하다"며 "입산 시 화기 소지 금지, 영농부산물이나 쓰레기 소각 금지 등 산불 방지 국민행동요령을 철저히 지켜달라"고 당부했다.
