세종시가 전국 최초의 ‘한글문화도시’로서 사업의 내실을 다지기 위해 24일부터 25일까지 이틀간 제1분기 한글문화도시 사업 점검을 실시했다.
한글문화도시 사업은 2025년부터 2027년까지 총 200억 원의 예산을 투입하여 이음, 채움, 가꿈의 세 가지 핵심 가치를 바탕으로 국제 한글 비엔날레 개최, 한글놀이터 조성 등 다양한 프로그램을 추진하는 프로젝트이다.

이번 제1분기 점검에서는 24일 세종인재육성평생교육진흥원과 세종시문화관광재단, 25일에는 세종창조경제혁신센터를 대상으로 사업 진행 상황을 점검했다.
특히, 문화체육관광부의 문화도시 컨설팅 위원이 영상회의로 참석하여 점검의 전문성을 높이고 국가 정책 방향과의 일치를 도모했다.
이번 분기 동안 주요 추진 내용으로는 한글문화도시센터 출범, 비엔날레 운영위원회 구성, 한글놀이터 세종관 대상지 선정, 세종 한글 컬처로드 예술가 모집 시작 등이 포함됐다.
