충남 서산시가 쾌적한 농촌 환경 조성을 위해 올해 농촌 쓰레기 수거체계 개선 사업을 본격적으로 추진한다고 28일 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 청소차량의 진입이 어려운 지역에서 발생하는 농촌 폐기물을 보다 효율적으로 수거하기 위해 마련되었다. 이를 위해 공동집하장과 클린하우스 등 차량이 접근할 수 있는 장소로 폐기물을 운반하는 시스템을 구축할 예정이다.
서산시는 이 사업의 원활한 운영을 위해 서산시 새마을회 회원 130여 명을 농촌쓰레기 수거활동반으로 구성하였다. 수거활동반은 읍면동별로 23명씩 조를 이루어 마을별로 정해진 배출 기간에 46개 마을을 순회하며 가정에서 배출한 생활 쓰레기와 방치 쓰레기를 수거하게 된다.
또한, 서산시는 분기별로 진행되는 숨은자원찾기 경진대회에서 농촌 폐비닐, 농약병 등의 재활용 가능한 자원을 수집하고 정리하는 역할도 맡고 있다. 이를 통해 농촌 지역의 자원 재활용률을 높이고, 폐기물 문제 해결에 기여할 계획이다.
