브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국민의힘은 31일 정부가 제안한 10조원 규모 추가경정예산(추경) 편성을 국회에서 신속 합의 처리해야 한다고 촉구했다.
권영세 비상대책위원장은 이날 오전 국회에서 열린 비대위 회의에서 "(정부의 추경안을) 국회에서 다른 무엇보다 최우선적으로 처리해야 한다. 산불 추경은 정치적 흥정의 대상이 될 수 없다"고 밝혔다.
권 위원장은 "이재민 대부분이 고령층 어르신이어서 정말 한시가 급한 상황"이라며 "재난을 앞에 두고도 정치가 정쟁에 빠져 해야 할 일을 하지 않으면 이재민을 비롯한 국민의 고통만 더 커지게 된다"고 말했다.
이어 "민주당에 대승적인 협력을 다시 한번 요청한다"며 "국민의힘은 국가적 재난을 슬기롭게 극복할 수 있도록 국민과 함께 모든 노력을 아끼지 않겠다"고 강조했다.
한편, 권성동 국민의힘 원내대표와 박찬대 민주당 원내대표는 이날 오전 국회에서 우원식 국회의장 주재로 회동을 갖고 추경 규모와 처리 시기 등을 논의할 예정이다.
이는 전날 정부가 산불 피해 지원, 통상·인공지능(AI) 경쟁력 강화, 서민경제 지원 등 3대 분야에 집중한 10조원 규모의 추경 편성 계획을 밝힌 데 따른 것이다.
