세종시교육청이 지난 29일 2025학년도 영재 교육 대상자 선발을 위한 전형을 실시했다고 31일 밝혔다.
이번 전형에서는 지원자의 잠재력, 창의성, 그리고 과제에 대한 집중력을 종합적으로 평가하며, 사회적 배려 대상자를 우선 선발하는 제도를 통해 영재 교육의 기회를 확대하고 있다.
세종시교육청에 따르면 이번 선발 과정에는 총 764명을 모집하는 가운데 947명이 응시했으며, 응시생들은 일반 영재성 검사와 함께 창의적 사고, 수학, 과학, 인문 사회, 정보 과학, 발명, 예술 등 다양한 분야의 영재성 검사에 참여했다.
각 분야의 검사는 4~6개의 대주제 아래에서 세부 문항을 통해 학생들의 영재성, 비판적 사고력, 그리고 종합적 탐구 능력을 평가하는 방식으로 진행되었다.
세종시교육청은 선발된 영재 학생들이 창의력, 문제 해결 능력, 그리고 사회적 책임감을 기를 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램을 제공할 예정이다.
이들은 흥미롭고 즐거운 심화 학습, 실험, 토론, 그리고 산출물 제작 과정을 통해 자신의 잠재력을 발견하고 발현할 수 있는 기회를 갖게 된다.
2025학년도에는 세종시 내 21개 초·중·고등학교와 37개 영재학급, 세종과학예술영재학교, 그리고 인근 지역 대학교의 영재교육원 5개 학교와 6개 교육원의 16학급 등 총 26개 학교에서 53학급의 영재학급(영재교육원)을 운영할 계획이다.
