브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 북한을 '핵국가'라고 핵 보유국으로 인정하는 듯한 발언을 하며 김정은 국무위원장과도 매우 좋은 관계를 유지하고 있다고 밝혔다.
AP통신 보도에 따르면 트럼프 대통령은 3월 31일(현지시간) 백악관 집무실에서 '언제 북한 김정은에게 연락할 계획이냐, 가까운 미래인가'라는 취재진 질문에 "그렇다. 저는 김정은과 매우 좋은 관계를 맺고 있다"고 답했다.
이어 "사람들은 이런 말을 듣기 싫어하겠지만, 이것은 매우 중요한 일이다"며 "알다시피 나는 김정은과 환상적으로 잘 지냈다"고 강조했다.
트럼프 대통령은 자주 독재자들과의 친분을 강조하는 발언을 하는데, 이는 문제적 국가들과 좋은 관계를 유지하는 게 오히려 득이 된다는 게 그의 생각이다.
트럼프 대통령은 김정은에 대해 "매우 영리한 사람이다. 그와 소통이 잘 되고 있다. 그것이 매우 중요하다"면서 "우리는 아마도 어느 시점엔 매우 중요한 문제에 대해서 대화를 할 것이다"라고 했다.
