울진군은 2024년부터 임대형 표고버섯 재배단지를 운영하며 지난해 20동(194㎡) 규모의 재배사를 활용해 90톤의 표고버섯을 수확한 성과를 올렸다. 올해도 생산이 순조롭게 이어지고 있으며, 2025년 3월 현재까지 15,484kg을 추가로 수확했다.
울진군은 민간 자본 보조사업을 통해 총 30억원을 투입, 25동의 재배시설을 추가 조성할 계획이다. 이를 통해 더 많은 농가가 안정적인 환경에서 표고버섯을 재배할 수 있도록 지원하고, 울진군의 대표 작물로 육성할 방침이다.
또한, 울진군은 지난해 녹색농업대학 표고버섯 기본반을 운영한 후, 올해에는 심화반을 개설해 28명을 대상으로 전문 교육을 진행하며, 표고버섯 재배 기술 고도화와 전문 인력 양성을 통해 지역 내 표고버섯 산업의 경쟁력을 강화할 계획이다.
손병복 울진군수는 "표고버섯 재배단지가 지역 내 버섯 산업 활성화와 농가 소득 증대에 기여할 것으로 기대된다"며, "앞으로도 체계적인 관리와 지원을 통해 지속 가능한 운영이 가능하도록 노력하겠다"고 말했다.
