이번 대책은 최근 산청·하동 인접 지역에서 발생한 대형 산불과 산불 재난 국가위기경보 ‘심각’ 단계 발령에 따라 강력하게 추진된다.
시는 대형 산불 및 야간 산불을 대비해 산불 취약 지역에 특별대책반 360명을 배치하고, 산불 전문 예방진화대 175명의 근로시간을 조정해 순찰을 강화하고 있다.
진주시는 지난달 29일 관내 전 임야를 화기물 소지 입산금지 구역으로 지정·고시하고, 주요 등산와 산 연접지는 산불 예방 홍보 캠페인과 불법 소각행위 단속이 실시하고 있다.
