한덕수 대통령 권한대행 국무총리가 3일 미국의 상호관세 발표에 '긴급 경제안보전략TF 회의'를 개최하고 대책을 논의했다.
한 권한대행은 이날 오전 서울 종로구 정부서울청사에서 TF 회의를 주재하고 미국의 상호관세 부과 발표에 따른 산업별 대책을 점검하고 우리 정부 대응 방안을 논의했다. 미 상호관세는 오는 9일 발효될 예정이다.
한 대행은 이 자리에서 "글로벌 관세전쟁이 현실로 다가온 매우 엄중한 상황인 만큼 통상위기 극복을 위해 정부가 가진 모든 역량을 쏟아부어야 한다"고 강조했다.
이어 미 상호관세 주요 내용을 보고받은 후 "기업과 함께 발표된 상호관세 상세 내용·영향을 면밀히 분석하라"며 "지금부터 본격적 협상 장이 열리는 만큼 피해를 최소화하기 위한 대미협상에 적극 나서라"고 안덕근 산업통상자원부 장관에게 주문했다.
또 "자동차 등 미 정부 관세 부과로 영향받을 업종·기업에 대한 긴급 지원대책도 범정부 차원에서 조속히 마련하라"고 지시했다. 한 대행은 이날 오후 주요 기업 등 민관이 함께 참여하는 '제3차 경제안보전략 TF' 회의를 열어 상호관세 대응 방안을 심도 있게 논의 예정이다.
정부는 TF 회의 직후 최상목 부총리 겸 기획재정부 장관 주재로 '거시경제 금융현안 간담회'를 열어 미 관세 조치에 따른 금융‧외환시장 영향을 점검하는데 이어 11시 30께 안 장관 주재로 민관합동 '미 관세조치 대책회의'를 갖고 아웃리치 등 업계와의 공동 대응 전략을 논의한다.
이날 회의엔 최상목 경제부총리 겸 기획재정부 장관·안 장관·정인교 통상교섭본부장·박성택 산업부 제1차관·김홍균 외교부 제1차관·남형기 국무조정실 국무2차장이 참석했다.
