(사)하늘문화세계평화광복(이하 HWPL)는 4월2일 보도자료에서 “(사)하늘문화세계평화광복은 지난 3월29일 서울 코엑스에서 ‘지구촌 전쟁종식 평화선언문’(이하 DPCW)을 공표했다. 유엔 헌장과 세계 인권 선언 정신을 계승한 DPCW는 ▲분쟁 예방 ▲분쟁 중재 ▲지속가능한 평화 보장을 바탕으로 총 10조 38항으로 구성돼 있다. 현재까지 각국 전현직 국가원수, 대법원, 국회의장 등 176명 고위 인사들로부터 지지 서명을 받았으며 DPCW 유엔 결의안 채택을 위한 각종 캠페인을 이어가고 있다”고 알렸다.
이 자료에 따르면, HWPL 글로벌08지부(이하 글로벌 08지부)는 DPCW 공표 9주년을 기념해 지난 29일 글로벌 온라인 세미나(웨비나)를 성공리에 개최했다. 본 행사는 ‘평화의 법제화: 조화와 협력의 길 – DPCW와 우리의 역할’이라는 주제로 ▲DPCW의 주요 내용과 중대성 ▲평화의 법제화 사례 ▲인사 발언 ▲대화형 토론 순서로 진행됐다. 이 웨비나는 벨기에·네덜란드 등 5개국 인사들을 포함해 60여 명이 참여했다. 평화 전문가, 시민사회 대표 등 각계각층이 한 자리에 모여 일상 생활에서 평화가 어떻게 이뤄질 수 있는지 실질적인 해결책을 모색할 수 있는 시간이었다. 참가자들은 지속적인 평화를 위해 국가 뿐만 아니라 개인 및 지역사회의 적극적 참여가 필요하다고 강조했다.

벨기에 평화 단체 ‘평화로운 연결’ 미리암 존네킨(68·여) 총무는 인사 발언에서 DPCW 8조 ‘종교의 자유’를 언급하면서 “평화를 잇는 다리로서 종교의 역할이 중요하다. 종교에 대한 오해와 편견으로 인해 초래된 갈등부터 극복해야 한다”고 말했다. 이어 “종교라는 이름으로 갈등과 폭력을 조장하는 조직을 처벌할 수 있는 법적 근거가 마련돼야 한다”며 “종교와 민족이 조화를 이룰 수 있는 정책 또한 필요하다”고 주장했다.
