경주시의회, 경북 북부 산불 피해 지역 지원활동 펼쳐

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시의회(의장 이동협)는 지난 3월 발생한 경북 북부지역의 최악의 산불로 인해 피해를 입은 지역 주민들을 위로하고 실질적인 지원을 제공하기 위해 4월 2일 지원활동을 펼쳤다.

이번 활동은 안동시, 영양군, 청송군, 의성군, 영덕군의회를 차례로 방문하는 방식으로 진행되었으며, 경주시는 이상복명과의 후원을 받아 경주빵 1,100박스를 피해 지역에 전달했다. 또한, 영덕국민체육센터에서 경주자원봉사센터 및 어향원 관계자들과 함께 이재민들에게 짜장밥을 제공하는 봉사활동도 진행됐다.

한편, 경주시의회는 앞선 3월 31일에도 의원들과 의회사무국 직원들이 총 721만 원을 모아 공동모금회를 통해 경주시에 기탁, 산불 피해 지역 복구를 위한 기금을 전달했다.

이동협 의장은 “경북 북부지역에서 발생한 유례없는 대형 산불로 소중한 생명을 잃고, 많은 주민들의 터전과 문화유산이 파괴된 안타까운 상황에 매우 가슴이 아프다”며, “산불 진화와 피해 복구를 위해 나서주신 모든 분들께 감사드리며, 경주시의회도 이재민들이 빠르게 일상으로 돌아갈 수 있도록 지속적으로 지원과 관심을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
