한덕수 대통령 권한대행 국무총리가 3일 "(제주가) 지방자치 완성형 모델로써 발전해오고 있다"며 제주 발전 방향을 논의했다.
한 권한대행은 이날 오후 제주특별자치도 제주혁신성장센터에서 열린 입주기업 간담회에서 "정말 뿌듯하게 평가하고 있다"며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "지방에 대한 (권한) 이양·규제개혁은 예산을 들이지 않고도 기업들이 크게 경쟁력을 강화시킬 수 있는 것이기 때문에 철저히 해드리면서 기업들이 지방에 와서 제대로 활동할 수 있도록 여러 지원을 하려 하고 있다"고 전했다.
또 "그간 제주는 1차 산업·관광 등에만 치중됐다"며 "산업구조를 고도화하고 경제를 근본 혁신하려면 교육이 제대로 돼야 하고 과학기술단지 같은 게 제대로 돼야 한다"고 했다.
더불어 "제주가 창의·혁신·환경의 모범이 되고 기업들이 지방에 와 일하는 데 아무 불편없는 여건을 구성하는 하나의 모범이 됐음 좋겠다"며 "행복을 극대화할 수 있는 지역이 되도록 하는 생각을 갖고 있다"고 밝혔다.
