브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 전 대통령의 파면으로 인해 치러지게 된 조기 대통령선거로 약 5000억원의 예산이 소요될 것이라는 분석이 나왔다.
7일 박찬대 더불어민주당 원내대표가 국회 예산정책처를 통해 제출받은 ‘2025년 대통령 보궐선거 비용 추계 조사’ 결과에 따르면 조기 대선 선거비용은 4949억4200만원이 들 것으로 추산됐다.
항목별로 보면, ▲대통령선거관리비용 3258억 400만원 ▲재외선거관리비용 189억 2500만원 ▲선거보전금 994억 2400만원 ▲정당보조금 507억 8900만원 등이다.
박 원내대표 의원실측은 이는 역대 최대 보궐선거 비용이라고 설명했다.
지난 2017년 박근혜 전 대통령 탄핵 당시에는 그해 12월 원래 예정된 대선이 있었기 때문에 별도의 조기 대선 비용이 발생하지 않았다. 하지만 이번의 경우, 다음 대선 예정일인 2027년보다 2년 앞서 열리기 때문에 완전히 계획에 없던 지출이 발생하게 됐다는 것이다.
이와 관련 박찬대 원내대표는 "막대한 국민 혈세의 낭비에 대한 책임은 결국 윤석열 정부와 국민의힘이 져야 하며 이는 국민의 정치적 심판을 필요로 한다"면서 "국민의힘은 그간 일관된 의정활동과 메시지를 통해 '보궐선거 원인을 제공한 정당은 후보자를 내지 않아야 한다'고 밝혀왔다. 염치가 있다면 그 책임을 지고 이번 대선에 후보조차 내지 말아야 한다"고 비판했다.
