브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 검찰이 윤석열 전 대통령의 탄핵으로 '자연인' 신분이 된 김건희 여사의 공천개입 의혹 조사가 들어갈 것으로 알려졌다.
7일 법조계에 따르면 서울중앙지검 명태균 사건 전담수사팀(팀장 이지형 차장검사)은 공천개입 의혹을 받고 있는 김 여사에 대한 소환조사를 위한 일정 조율에 들어갔다.
검찰 측은 김 여사 측에 연락해 '명균태씨의 공천개입 의혹과 관련한 김 여사 직접 조사가 필요하다'는 입장을 전한 것으로 알려졌다. 다만 김 여사 측에선 이에 대해 아무런 답변도 하지 않았다고 한다.
이와 관련 법조계에서는 김 여사가 이제는 현직 영부인 신분이 아닌 만큼, 조만간 본격적인 조사에 나설 것으로 예상하고 있다. 김 여사와 명씨간 주고받은 메시지와 통화녹음 등이 언론 등에 공개될 만큼 충분한 증거가 확보된 상태이기 때문에 김 여사에 대한 대면 조사를 기정사실화 하고 있는 분위기다.
한편, 윤 전 대통령과 김 여사는 명태균씨가 실질적으로 운영한 여론조사업체 미래한국연구소로부터 80여회에 걸쳐 무상 여론조사를 제공받은 혐의를 받고 있다. 검찰은 김 여사가 2021년 7월 명씨로부터 대선 지지율 등 여론조사 결과를 미리 받은 카카오톡 메시지 등 증거자료를 충분히 확보한 것으로 전해졌다.
명씨는 또 여론조사 결과를 제공하는 대가로 지방선거에서 일부 지역 공천권을 행사한 혐의를 받고 있다.
실제로 더불어민주당은 지난 2022년 지방선거를 앞두고 국민의힘 공천 발표 전날인 5월 9일 윤 전 대통령과 명씨가 통화한 내용을 공개하기도 했다. 해당 통화에서 윤 전 대통령은 "내가 김영선이 경선 때부터 열심히 뛰었으니까 김영선이를 좀 해줘라 그랬는데, 말이 많네 당에서"라고 말했다.
