[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 진례테크노밸리 내 ‘차세대 고효율 전력반도체 토탈솔루션센터’ 조성공사에 착수한다고 8일 밝혔다.
시는 2026년 상반기 준공을 목표로 오는 9일 공정회의를 시작으로 공사에 들어간다.
전력반도체는 전력을 빠르고 효율적으로 제어하는 핵심부품으로 전기차의 배터리 효율 향상과 차량 경량화, 로봇의 정밀제어와 에너지 절감, 우주·항공 분야의 고내구성 전력시스템 구현 등에 필수적이다.
이번 센터는 총 부지면적 3,300㎡, 지상 2층, 건축연면적 1,940㎡ 규모로 조성되며 실증지원을 위한 첨단장비가 단계적으로 도입되어 전력반도체 소재부터 소자·모듈까지 전주기 실증 지원과 기업 맞춤형 기술지원을 원스톱으로 제공할 수 있게 된다.
센터가 완공되면 국내 전력기술 분야 최고 연구기관인 한국전기연구원이 센터를 운영한다.
특히 이 센터가 국가과학기술연구회 승인에 따라 한국전기연구원의 지역조직으로 확정되면서 김해가 과학기술 기반의 국가 전략산업 거점도시로서 한 걸음 도약하는 계기가 됐다.
김해시는 5대 전력산업 중심 4대 첨단산업클러스터 중 하나인 진례테크노밸리 산단에 △스마트 센싱 유닛 실증센터와 △중고로봇 리퍼브센터, △물류로봇 실증센터 등을 유기적으로 연계함으로써, 김해시가 추진 중인 ‘물류·로봇·반도체 클러스터’의 기술 기반을 더욱 견고히 다질 계획이다.
김해시 관계자는 “전력반도체는 미래형 산업의 필수 부품으로 그 수요와 중요성은 점차 커지고 있다”며 “센터 착공은 김해가 미래차·로봇·항공 등 첨단산업의 테스트베드이자 혁신 거점도시로 도약하는 중요한 시작점이 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.
