브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 구미현 아워홈 대표이사가 지난 4일 용인 어묵 제조 공장에서 목끼임 사고를 당한 직원이 사망한 데 대해, 9일에서야 입장문을 내고 사과했다.
아워홈은 이날 오전 구미현 대표이사 명의의 입장문을 통해 "지난 4일 용인 소재 사업장에서 근무 중 사고를 당한 당사 직원이 금일 새벽 사망했다"며 "관계 기관은 정확한 사고 원인을 조사하기 위해 부검을 진행할 예정"이라고 밝혔다.
앞서 지난 4일 오전 11시께 경기 용인시 처인구에 위치한 아워홈 어묵 제조공장에서 30대 남성 직원 A씨가 어묵 냉각용 기계에 목이 끼는 사고가 발생했다. 신고를 받고 출동한 구급대가 현장에 도착했을 때 A씨는 이미 심정지 상태였다. 구급대는 곧바로 병원에 이송했으나 결국 이날 새벽 사망했다.
이에 대해 구 대표는 "삼가 고인의 명복을 빈다"면서 "결코 있어서는 안 될 사고가 발생한 것에 대해 대표이사로서 말할 수 없이 참담한 심정"이라고 말했다.
이어 "유가족께 진심으로 깊은 애도와 위로의 말씀을 드리며, 현장의 동료 직원들에게도 사과와 위로의 말씀을 전합니다"라고 사과했다.
이어 구 대표는 "회사는 유가족 지원에 모든 역량을 총동원하고 있으며, 정확한 사고 원인 규명을 위해 관계 기관에 적극 협조하고 있다"며 "모든 조사에 성실히 임하고 필요한 조치에도 최선을 다할 것이며, 다시는 이와 같은 사고가 발생하지 않도록 면밀히 대책을 수립하고 철저히 이행하겠다"고 밝혔다.
한편, 아워홈은 사고 사흘만인 지난 7일 이영표 경영총괄 사장 명의로 입장문을 내고 사과한 바 있다. 경찰과 고용노동부의 조사 결과가 나올 때까지 사고와 관련한 공식 입장을 내놓기 조심스럽다는 이유로 사과문조차 내지 않다가 사고 발생 3일만에 사과 메시지를 내놨다. 이영표 사장은 “재해 직원께서 회복하시길 간절히 바라며 가족께 깊은 사과 말씀을 드린다”면서 “회사는 경찰과 고용부 조사에 적극 임하고 있으며 재해 직원과 가족에 대한 지원, 정확한 사고 원인 파악과 재발 방지에 전력을 다하고 있다”고 밝혔다.
