이번에 장비를 지원받은 병원은 기장병원, 동국대 경주병원, 영광기독병원, 영광종합병원, 울산대병원, 울진군 의료원 등이다. 각 병원에는 전동식 심폐인공소생기 4대, 휴대용 초음파진단장치 2대가 전달됐다.
전동식 심폐인공소생기는 심정지 환자에게 자동으로 심장압박을 제공하며, 휴대용 초음파진단장치는 사고 현장에서도 신속한 환자 상태 진단이 가능해 응급 상황 대응에 유용하다.
한수원은 2008년부터 ‘원전본부 방사선 비상진료 협약병원 지원 협약’을 통해 방사능 오염환자 진료체계 구축에 힘써왔다. △오염환자 격리병실 설치 △방사선 비상진료 교육비 지원 △진료장비 및 물품 제공 등 실질적인 지원을 지속해오고 있다.
한수원은 이번 장비 역시 방사능 사고 발생 시 활용이 가능하면서도, 발생 빈도가 낮은 점을 고려해 일반 환자 진료에도 활용할 수 있도록 병원들과 협의해 장비를 선정했다.
이봉수 방사선보건원장은 “협약병원에 실질적으로 도움이 되는 장비를 지원하게 되어 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 지역 주민들의 생명과 건강 보호를 위해 안정적인 비상진료체계 구축에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
