동국대 WISE캠퍼스, 마티아스 프랑케 주한 칠레대사 초청 '세계시민교육' 특강 개최

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스는 지난 8일 원효관 글로벌에이스홀에서 마티아스 프랑케 주한 칠레대사를 초청해 ‘경주형 세계시민교육 초청강연’을 개최했다고 밝혔다. 이번 행사는 경주시가 후원하고, 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 글로벌융합연구소가 주관했다.

마티아스 프랑케 대사는 ‘칠레의 외교 정책: 2025 APEC KOREA를 위한 공동의 비전’을 주제로 강연을 진행했으며, 이날 행사에는 경주시민과 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 교직원, 재학생 등 100여 명이 참석해 높은 관심을 보였다.

강연 후에는 참석자들과의 질의응답 시간이 이어져, 대사는 경주시민들과 직접 소통하며 칠레의 외교 정책과 글로벌 이슈에 대한 이해를 넓혔다.

‘경주형 세계시민교육’은 동국대 WISE캠퍼스와 경주시가 관학 협력사업의 일환으로 기획한 명품 교양강좌 시리즈로, 문화다양성, 지속가능발전목표(SDGs), 국제개발협력 등 세계시민성을 주제로 한 강의가 매월 열릴 예정이다.

이번 프로그램을 기획한 글로벌융합연구소 이영찬 교수는 “시민들이 책임 있는 세계시민으로 성장할 수 있도록 핵심 주제별 강의를 지속 제공할 계획”이라며, “이를 통해 지역 인재 양성과 경주의 글로컬(Global+Local) 특성화 모델 구축에 기여하길 기대한다”고 말했다.

Dongguk University WISE Campus Hosts Special Lecture on ‘Global Citizenship Education’ by Inviting Chilean Ambassador to Korea Matthias Franke

Dongguk University WISE Campus announced that on the 8th, it hosted a ‘Gyeongju-style Global Citizenship Education Invitational Lecture’ by inviting Chilean Ambassador to Korea Matthias Franke at the Wonhyo Hall Global Ace Hall. This event was sponsored by Gyeongju City and hosted by Dongguk University WISE Campus Global Convergence Research Institute.

Ambassador Matthias Franke gave a lecture on the topic of ‘Chile’s Foreign Policy: A Shared Vision for 2025 APEC KOREA’, and about 100 people including Gyeongju citizens, Dongguk University WISE Campus faculty and staff, and current students attended the event, showing great interest.

After the lecture, a Q&A session with the attendees took place, allowing the Ambassador to directly communicate with Gyeongju citizens and broaden their understanding of Chile’s foreign policy and global issues.

‘Gyeongju-type Global Citizenship Education’ is a series of premium liberal arts lectures planned by Dongguk University WISE Campus and Gyeongju City as part of a government-academic cooperation project. Lectures on global citizenship topics such as cultural diversity, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and international development cooperation will be held every month.

Professor Lee Young-chan of the Global Convergence Research Institute, who planned this program, said, “We plan to continuously provide lectures on key topics so that citizens can grow into responsible global citizens,” and added, “Through this, we hope to contribute to fostering local talent and establishing a global+local specialization model for Gyeongju.”
