브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국민의힘은 10일 더불어민주당이 대선기간 가짜뉴스 대응을 위해 '민주소방서' 출범을 준비 중이라는 보도와 관련 "포기를 모르는 민주당의 검열정치, '국민을 적'으로 모는 오만한 민낯"이라고 비난했다.
조용술 대변인은 이날 논평을 통해 "이미 국민적 비판을 받았던 '민주파출소'에 이어 또다시 검열 기구를 만들겠다는 발상은 그 자체로 충격적"이라며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "민주당은 최근까지도 마음에 안 드는 카톡, SNS, 댓글에 '가짜뉴스'라는 이름을 붙여 검열해 왔다"며, "이제 '민주소방서'까지 출범해 유튜브 검열 등 소셜미디어에서 입맛에 안 맞는 정보를 AI 기술까지 동원해 더욱 정밀하게 통제하겠다는 것"이라고 주장했다.
또한 "국민이 이런 시도를 반대했음에도, 더욱 노골적인 방식으로 '공포정치'를 하겠다는 것"이라고 비판했다.

조 대변인은 "최근까지 우리 사회는 검찰, 경찰 등 국가기관을 사칭한 보이스피싱 사기로 인해 큰 피해를 겪었고, 국민은 그러한 사칭 행위에 대해 많은 분노와 두려움을 느끼고 있다"며, "거대 야당이 직접 나서서 국민을 향해 비슷한 방식으로 압박한다면 그 누가 동의하겠냐"고 말했다.
그러면서 "공당이라면 다양한 비판과 반대 의견을 포용하고, 헌법이 보장한 표현의 자유를 수호해야 한다"며, "자신에 대한 비판에 대응하더라도 지켜야 할 선은 분명히 존재한다"고 덧붙였다.
