한울본부는 지난 4월 7일부터 8일까지 이틀간 임직원 40여 명이 참여한 가운데 이재민 대피소 철거 및 운영 지원, 구호물품 정리, 환경정비 등 봉사활동을 실시했다.
이들은 특히 삼화2리 마을회관을 찾아 이재민들이 보다 쾌적한 환경에서 머물 수 있도록 내부 청소와 정리정돈을 진행했다. 대피소에서는 구호 물품을 배부하고 정리하는 등 피해 주민을 위한 실질적인 지원 활동에 힘을 보탰다.
봉사에 참여한 한 직원은 “실제 피해를 겪은 주민들을 뵈니 마음이 아팠다”며 “작은 힘이나마 도움이 될 수 있어서 다행이고, 하루빨리 주민들이 일상으로 돌아가실 수 있도록 지속적으로 참여하겠다”고 말했다.
이세용 한울본부장은 “갑작스러운 산불로 삶의 터전을 잃은 이웃에게 따뜻한 손길을 전할 수 있어 의미 깊다”며 “피해 복구에 그치지 않고 지역경제 회복과 주민들의 일상 회복을 위한 다양한 지원방안도 모색해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
한울본부는 앞으로도 지속적인 복구 지원과 자원봉사 활동을 통해 지역사회와의 상생 협력을 이어갈 방침이다.
