한중도시우호협회는 4월12일 보도자료에서 “권기식 한중도시우호협회장은 지난 4월12일 오후 중국 하이난(海南)성 하이커우(海口)시 소재 하이난성 영빈관에서 오영훈(吳怜勳) 제주도지사와 함께 류사오밍(劉小明) 하이난성장을 면담했다”고 알렸다.

류사오밍(劉小明) 하이난성장은 "하이난성은 자유무역항으로서 고품질 발전의 전진기지"라며 "하이테크ㆍ농업ㆍ생태환경 등에서 제주도와 더욱 많은 협력을 기대한다"고 화답했다.
권기식 회장은 간담회에 앞서 류 성장을 만나 "제주도와 하이난성은 한중 지방정부 교류의 모범"이라며 "한중도시우호협회는 하이난성이 제주도를 비롯한 한국 지방정부 및 경제계와 교류하는 것을 적극 지원할 것"이라고 말했다.
권기식 회장은 간담회 후 영빈관에서 오 지사, 셰징(謝京) 하이난성 부성장, 왕레이(王磊) 외사판공실 부주임 등과 만찬을 함께 한 뒤 하이난성 문화유산센터 극장에서 열린 한중 합동 기념공연에 참석해 제주도-하이난성 교류 30주년을 축하했다.
