브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 김두관 더불어민주당 전 의원이 14일 민주당 대선 경선 불참을 선언했다.
당내 대선 경선룰로 제안한 완전국민경선(오픈프라이머리) 등이 받아들여지지 않자, 이재명 대표를 추대하려는 것이냐며 크게 반발했다.
김두관 전 의원은 이날 오후 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "김대중·노무현 정신을 저버리고 배제한 민주당 경선을 거부한다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
김 전 의원은 "죄송하고 부끄럽다. 그렇지만 김대중·노무현 정신을 저버린 민주당 경선에 참여할 면목이 없다"며 "저는 민주당에서 가장 먼저 선거 출마를 선언했다. 계엄과 내란이라는 혼란스러운 상황이 정리되면 정치가 복원되는 시간을 빨리 앞당겨야 한다고 생각했기 때문"이라고 했다.
이어 "저는 민주당의 압도적 정권교체를 위해서 18세 이상 대한민국 국민이면 누구나 참여하는 ‘완전개방형 오픈프라이머리’를 주장했지만 당 선관위에서는 후보 측과 어떤 설명이나 논의도 없이 '오픈프라이머리 불가'를 발표했다"며 "후보들과 협의 없는 경선룰은 특정 후보를 추대하는 것과 비슷한 결과를 가져올 것이 불을 보듯 뻔하다"고 비판했다.
김 전 의원은 민주당이 '역선택 우려'가 있다며 국민 선거인단 제도를 선택하지 않은 데 대해서는 "신천지가 두렵고 전광훈이 무서운데 무슨 선거를 치르겠는가"라며 "차라리 신천지와 사랑제일교회 명단에 오른 사람은 참정권을 박탈하겠다고 하는 게 더 솔직한 선택"이라고 주장했다.
아울러 "저는 탄핵 이후 새로운 대한민국의 미래를 위해 ‘개헌 대통령’이 되겠다고 출마선언을 했다. 제왕적 대통령제인 87년 체제를 유지한 채 취임하는 21대 대통령은 누가 되어도 증오와 분노의 정치를 증폭시키고, 국민주권의 사유화 유혹과 정치폭력에서 벗어나지 못할 것"이라며 "진정 민주당의 미래의 모습이 무엇인지, 대한민국의 정치발전이 무엇인지, 김대중·노무현 정신을 계승하고 국민의 희망을 만드는 일이 무엇인지 고민하겠다"고 했다.
그러면서 "당분간 국민과 나라를 위해 제가 어떤 정치적 행보를 하는 것이 좋을지, 조언도 듣고 깊은 숙고의 시간을 가질 계획이다. 그리 길지는 않을 것"이라고 덧붙였다.
