최민호 세종시장이 16일부터 17일까지 베트남 하노이를 방문하여 세종시 출범 이후 첫 해외 외교 일정을 소화하며 문화 및 스마트시티 중심의 협력 방안을 모색했다.
세종시에 따르면 지난16일, 최 시장은 베트남한국문화원을 찾아 현지에서 진행되고 있는 한국어 및 한류 교육 현장을 살펴보았다.
이 자리에서 그는 세종시가 추진 중인 다양한 한글 관련 사업과 한국문화원 간의 협력 방안을 논의하며 양국 간의 문화 교류를 더욱 강화할 계획을 밝혔다.
17일에는 제12회 도시문화융합컨퍼런스에서 기조연설자로 나서 ‘자연과 기술이 융합된 미래도시, 행정수도 세종’이라는 주제로 연설을 진행했다.
이 컨퍼런스는 도시, 문화, 융합 산업 분야의 최신 동향과 비전을 공유하고 전문가들과의 네트워킹을 촉진하기 위해 2014년부터 매년 개최되고 있다.
최 시장은 기조연설에서 세종시의 출범 배경과 행정수도로서의 위상, 그리고 현재 추진 중인 주요 역점 과제들을 중점적으로 소개했다. 그는 “디지털 전환 시대 속에서 문화와 기술의 융합이 도시의 경쟁력을 좌우할 것”이라며, “세종시는 시민이 체감하는 스마트 문화를 기반으로 글로벌 도시 간 연대에 앞장설 것”이라고 강조했다.
이어 그는 베트남국립미술관을 방문하여 세종시의 박물관 도시 비전을 소개하고, 공동 기획 전시 등 상호 협력 방안을 논의했다. 베트남국립미술관은 약 2만 점의 예술품을 소장하고 있는 베트남 최대 규모의 미술관으로, 향후 세종시와의 전시 교류를 통해 박물관 도시 완성을 위한 다양한 협력이 기대된다.
최민호 시장은 “이번 하노이 방문을 통해 아세안 협력 외교의 핵심 거점으로서 전방위적 교류 협력 기반을 다졌다”며, “정책, 산업, 문화가 어우러지는 지속 가능한 도시 외교를 통해 다양한 글로벌 성과를 만들어가겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
한편, 최 시장은 18일에는 쩐 시 타잉 하노이 인민위원장과의 면담 및 베트남 진출 세종 기업인들과의 간담회를 통해 출장 일정을 마무리할 예정이다.
